Our mission at the Melbourne Organisation of Muslims Inc. (MOMIN) is to collaborate with the Muslim community and extend our efforts beyond, guided by the noble principles of the Amal of Masjid of Rasulullah (PBUH) during his time and those of the Sahabah (RAD) and the Tabi’un.
We envision a cohesive and dynamic Muslim community in Melbourne that thrives on the principles of faith, knowledge, and compassion. We are committed to creating an environment where individuals can grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially while contributing positively to the broader society.
Not too long ago, in 2022, our humble journey began with a small Musallah at Br. Sajjad’s residence, 19 Vita Place, Officer, which we fondly called “Garage Musallah.”
Despite the crisp Melbourne September nights, we would gather there, rain or shine, for the Isha and Fajr prayers. Beneath the dim garage lights, we sat together, reflecting and lifting our hearts in worship to Allah SWT. Our collective plea was for a place where more of our brothers could join us in salah and partake in the noble deeds of the masjid—a space where faith could flourish and brotherhood could thrive.
Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the Divine Planner heard our supplications. He (SWT) orchestrated our destiny, weaving together the threads of our lives.
Our journey was not one we embarked on alone. With the unwavering support of LFCI, our dream began to take shape. We tirelessly searched for a suitable place and, through their assistance, secured the current Officer Scout Hall for us. May Allah SWT shower His boundless blessings upon them for their kindness and generosity.
SubhanAllah! Moments like these remind us of the humble beginnings of extraordinary journeys. They stand as a testament to the power of unity, faith, and Allah’s providence. As we continue down this path, our hearts are full of gratitude. We implore Allah SWT to guide us, help us grow in faith, and keep us grounded in humility. Through His grace and the support of our fellow believers, we find the strength to forge ahead on this beautiful journey of faith.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 1St Beaconsfield Scout Community for their extraordinary support and generosity. Their unwavering assistance in providing us with a suitable space at the Scout Hall has been instrumental in the growth of our congregation. Their kindness has enabled us to unite in prayer and community service, fostering a sense of unity and brotherhood. May Allah SWT bless them with Hidayah (Divine Guidance) for their invaluable contributions to our journey.
We have dedicated teams of the MOMIN Core Committee, MOMIN Youth, and MOMIN’s sister’s wing, MO’MINA, guided by MOMIN’s founder, Br. Muhammad Sajjad Hossain and Founding President Br. Sherif Mohamed.
MOMIN, as an organization, seeks guidance from its esteemed Advisory Committee, led by the respected Sheikh Uzayr Zuber Ali from Nurul Huda. The committee is further strengthened by the expertise and wisdom of Dr. Monzur Imteaz, Dr. Usman Ali Rana, Dr. Ali Sherif, Br. Muhammad Naeem, and Br. Tawfiq Hassan, CA. Together, these dedicated individuals provide invaluable support and direction, ensuring that MOMIN’s initiatives align with our mission and vision.
